Whilst revenge is frowned upon by more spiritually aware people, it can be very satisfying when enacted. If you are reading this you are either curious (Why is revenge being discussed on a fat loss website)…
Either way, you really ought to read this page completely…
Why are you overweight or fat?
Who is to blame?
A “tough love” type coach might tell you that it is all your fault, you are the one stuffing your face whilst watching TV.
An obesity enabler or a denial peddler might tell you that “it is what it is”, you “are the way you are.”
Some random person who has not really thought about the issue might tell you that it is your genes… “Blame your parents”.
… Or “modern life”…
… Blame the traffic jams and evil bosses who make you comfort eat.
An “old fashioned” weight loss advice expert might tell you to eat less fat, or
… Consume fewer calories than you expend!
But really, who is to blame?
Is the blame game even worth playing?
I mean, if you really analyze the situation and realize that you are to blame, what then?
You will feel even worse, and then possibly comfort eat in order to soothe your hurt feelings…
So, as “garbage in” gets us “garbage out” (GIGO), lets use a better input. Lets re-frame our question.
“What are the contributing factors to my current overweight state?”
That’s much better, no witch hunt…
So, on a piece of paper, list all of the contributing factors… Go ahead!
I kinda knew that you wouldn’t take action…
Let me list some for you to get you started…
- Eating processed foods.
- Lack of exercise.
- Emotional problems.
- Lack of sleep.
- Artificial food additives.
- Alcohol. (You gave up cigarettes (bravo)).
- Family members eating junk food.
- Friends buying you cake.
- Convenience stores ONLY selling junk food.
- Cafeteria’s selling unsavory healthy food.
(Complete the list tailored to yourself and your own excuses…)
So, none of this is new.
Although you can choose to change or avoid these things, action often proves difficult…
(Did you finish that list yet?)
So, how do we turn the tables…
Get your revenge….
A dish best served cold…
When we think of revenge, what are the best ways, and the worst ways to get it?
Lets use 2 different examples unrelated to weight loss.
1) The cheating partner/spouse
The worst revenge:
You smash their car, (that you technically half own), cut all of their clothes up with scissors, (Financially weakening them and making them more dependent on the separated financial spoils). You go into a nightclub and catch them in the act, you cause a scene (that makes you look like a silly jealous fool).
The best revenge:
You move on, knowing that you can do better, and that they obviously didn’t love you anyway. Better to know now and salvage future lost time. You focus on your health, fitness, interests and meet someone new. Later on you see your ex having drinks thrown over them in a different nightclub by a different scorned lover.
The business partner who screws you
The worst revenge:
You start a legal action to fight for your rights, this legal action costs both sides a fortune, only the lawyers win. You dirty their name and reputation wherever you can. Even though you are telling the truth, no one cares and sees you as either a sucker or a loser.
The best revenge:
You know that this person will conduct all of their business in this manner. If you realized what they were like maybe you wouldn’t have got into the relationship in the first place. You realize that you chose them, no-one forced you. Maybe you should have noticed the signs. So you chalk it down to experience and get on with your life. You don’t even follow their life anymore, you just don’t care. The ex-business partner lives in fear of revenge or repercussions that never happen…
So, what is the difference between “best revenge” and “worse revenge”?
Number one, a lack of drama. The best revenge involves no drama from you. No shouting, kicking, crying, blaming or dirty laundry. It is a dish served cold.
Number two. Positive action is embarked upon immediately, good memories replace bad, good experiences are savored and new foundations are built.
How does this relate to fat loss?
Do you want revenge on fast food manufacturers?.. Or… Even your own television?
Do not complain, whine, blame, cry, threaten, they will not care or listen. Just move on, stop hanging around with them.
No drama, anger or blame.
Your revenge is cold and calculated.
You calculate how much time you are spending on useless things when you could be enhancing your life. You make better plans, better goals.
You serve yourself cold dishes.
Cold dishes or raw fruit and vegetables.
Uncooked to preserve the living enzymes that will nurture your body and mind. You will not use a microwave that denatures your food rendering it Frankenfood. When you do cook your vegetables you heat them as little as possible.
But you take your revenge by eating cold dishes more often, and coldly move on from the “list of contributing factors” on to a more positive life…
