I have lost count of how many books I have read, it must be over 1000, maybe even 2000 I really have no idea. I rarely read fiction. Every book I have read, every article, every news piece or documentary has contributed to who I am. Likewise, the practical efforts that I have made towards weight loss, and the advice I have got from others has molded my current opinions.
I have written all these posts without researching as I go.
Everything has come from my own memory, experience, and my own heart
From all the books that I have read I would like to recommend just 3. I don’t think it will be helpful to give you a big list as I see at the back of some books.
I believe that these are some weight lost posts that you also should read, apart from the books below. To ensure a healthy and happy life I recommend just 3 more. The fact that I am choosing 3 is both a testament to what I think of them, and a show of appreciation to the massive help that they have given me.
Book 1: Natural cures by Kevin Trudeau
This book will educate you about what you are putting in your body. Don’t be discouraged by the title. It doesn’t matter if you are currently experiencing illness and are looking for a ‘cure’.
Kevin will explain that if the body is healthy it doesn’t get sick in the first place. When you are sick, pharmaceutical drugs simply control symptoms, the body heals itself. There is a ton of information on nutrition, food additives, toxins in your environment and much more.
This book was an amazing eye-opener for me. I still reread or dip into it from time to time. You are what you eat, and a general level of health and vitality is an important factor in weight control.
Book 2: The 4 Hour body by Tim Ferriss
Another monumental book. Tim explores the latest in body design, he works with scientists, doctors and personal trainers that are at the top of their game. Tim’s approach is laser focused and shows how much junk science and common misconceptions there are out there.
It is a huge book and each section focuses on specific targets and measurable goals. You want to be thinner? There is a chapter. Faster? There is a chapter. Stronger? There is a chapter. When reading this book, I found myself amazed and enthralled repeatedly. The only book you need on body sculpting.
Book 3 Goals! By Brian Tracy
I have read countless books on self-help, philosophy and psychology. These are my favorite reading topics. From Napoleon Hill to Anthony Robbins. From Marcus Aurelius to Sigmund Freud.
Brian Tracy’s book on goals is the best one I have come across. It is really easy to read, and has practical exercises at the end of each chapter. The first time I read the book and did the exercises I was skeptical, but about a year later I reviewed my notes and realized that I had hit most of my goals!
So, I go back to this book once or twice EVERY YEAR. Every New Year’s Eve I pull out this wonderful book.
So, that is it, 3 books plus all these posts, (that you have finished reading now, well done)!
I don’t know how much time you can devote to reading but it doesn’t matter. Ten minutes a day is fine, or a few solid days in a row. I must warn you though, between these books you will have so many ‘aha moments’ and a quite a few ‘eureka’ moments.
It you read them back to back you might end up with a sore forehead after slapping yourself again and again!
If you ever find yourself backsliding or demotivated, just go back to them. Sharpen the saw, review and rediscover the principles. If you do want to try the same approach as me, and try to read everything, I can tell you that it is not easy.
What I have found is that most wisdom gets repeated in different ways.
Wisdom and truth are eternal
