The most common sources of genetically modified foods are:
– Sugar beets
– Farm raised salmon
Most farm animals and fish are being fed with feed pellets that are probably soy and cereal based
I don’t want to get too involved in the topic of GMO food, these posts are not about science.
Suffice to say I have read overwhelming evidence that GMO ‘Frankenfoods’ are potentially dangerous to our health. Do some research and prepare for the shock.
Common sense would tell us that there are some things that we should be careful messing with. New strains of genetically engineered food are being developed all the time. In many ways, we are guinea pigs in relation to modern food production techniques. Including our children who will consume GMO ingredients.
Some countries require labeling (e.g. in Europe), in other countries no labeling is required, (e.g. US and Canada).
If you look at the list above, you will notice some ‘white carbs’. We can add wheat flour to the list because back in the 60‘s scientists created new types of wheat that have been used ever since.
The history of aspartame is also very controversial.
Do some research on aspartame and GMO food
Another good reason to make your diet like slow carb, Atkins, Paleo and so on.
Again, these posts are not about science, but I suggest some further research…
