A fat loss journey can be compared to a space voyage in a rocket ship or a space shuttle. There are some easy steps and some hard steps. Are you ready to prepare for, then take off on your own fatloss rocket ship?
The fatloss/intergalactic dream stage
The easiest step is surely the dreaming or the idle conversation about it.
Adults can dream of losing weight and becoming more healthy, just as children might fantasize and make believe that they are astronauts. In children’s imaginations, and through their play with friends they are shooting through the galaxy at light speed.
The same applies to the obese adults who are dreaming of being slim or chatting to their friends about how they are planning to join the gym next month, or planning to start a diet in the new year.
Real astronauts have the same dreams…
…But children and people who are not serious about fatloss get stuck on this stage.
The action stage
The next step is of course the planning and action stage. Real astronauts take action and start the journey of training and preparation in order to work towards their goals.
Children who dream of being an astronaut or Doctor realize that they have to do well at school, they have to get good grades and they have to stay in peak physical condition. They take action in this direction with healthy eating, study and exercise.
Real astronauts do this as well. People who are serious about losing weight so the same. The same healthy eating, healthy mind and healthy body. The children and fat people who are not serious gradually drop out at this stage.
The launch stage
By the time the launch stage is reached, persistent action has been taken. The person with the fatloss mentality has been steadily more mindful of what to nourish their mind, body and soul with, bad habits are being replaced with good ones.
- Junk food is being replaced with nutritious food.
- Negative thoughts are being replaced with empowering ones.
The Successful astronaut has been doing exactly the same thing, the training, the dedication, the belief is growing. The person with the fatloss mindset has started to lose weight, but they are still fat.
The astronaut has never been in a space rocket. But you now what? Both are starting to actually believe that it will happen.
As the astronaut suits up, and the fat person continues with their good habits, there is a sense of excitement and adventure that could not be bought for all the riches of the World.
Breaking through the gravitational pull
There are 2 dangerous times for the astronaut. Actually taking off, and breaking through the Earths gravitational pull. The rocket has to be going fast enough to actually break out of the atmosphere and into space.
For the fat person there are also 2 main obstacles, the first obstacle is the plateau stage, where progress slows or stops for a period of time. This is where many give up and revert back to the junk food/body/mind inertia stage.
Little do they know that if they stick to their goal they can break through the gravitational pull of the fatloss plateau. The other obstacle is the death of your old ego.
You will have to face up to the fact that your weight problem has been your fault, based on your choices and laziness. Not your family or friends, not the government or the food manufacturers…
Own your mistakes and get over it. You are not a fat person on a diet, you are the person that has been waiting to be freed from the blubber prison all along.
Out of this World
This is the best stage. All of your hopes and dreams have been fulfilled, (for now at least).
As you float above the World and realize the intense beauty that life has to offer. When you realize that a fulfilling life is not about the avoidance of struggle, but the passionate embrace of it.
You realize that if you can do this, you can do anything. You also realize that it actually wasn’t as hard as it seemed when you had confidence knocking days back at the dream, action, launch or gravity stages… You are truly alive, and you are looking forward to your next challenge.
