Weight loss solutions through exercise: Finding the time for action

We all know what we should be doing to improve ourselves and our lives, don’t we? We know that there are no real weight loss secrets… We know that the main weight loss solution is through maintaining a balanced and healthy diet. There are also weight loss solutions through exercise.

Are there errands or places to go that can be reached by bicycle? Then you can achieve weight loss solutions through exercise.


Do you ever feel like you don’t have enough time to exercise or eat healthily?

For some people, going to the gym is a hobby AND a passion. Getting your kit together and jumping in your car can have the atmosphere of anticipation, as you turn up the volume of your motivational music in your car, you cruise along knowing that life is good.

You park your car and make your way briskly to the gym, when you arrive you are greeted by the receptionist whose eyes light up when they see you. A couple of buddies are there and there is the quick catch up and high fives. As you walk towards the changing room you cannot help notice a bit of eye candy in the gym, fitness gods and goddesses in their element…

You come out of the changing room with a burning desire, your energy levels are rising and you are shaking off the grind of work, a mental fog is lifting.

As you warm up, the slight aches and stiffness drift away as you loosen up and those natural “feel good” chemicals start to course through your veins. As you move towards your main workout area, you know that you will have a good session, the full nights sleep and the nutritious food eaten in the last 24 hours have put you in peak condition.

After 10 minutes or so, you hit that familiar tiredness barrier, so you up the tempo and break through that first gravitational field where many start to slack off. But not you, you know that at the end of your session you are as likely to feel just as energized, maybe more so than when you started.

You soon get into the flow of the exercise, that peak performance slipstream that is only experienced by the most committed. This peak performance zone applies to many parts of life, whether you are a writer who can just let the words flow, or a crafts person who can create wonderful work when they are in tune with their passion. Even a darts or billiard player can experience this zone. where shot after shot is perfect.

You get to the stage where you know that you have had enough, and that you have to treat your body as a temple, it must be treated with respect. Over training is a big no-no, you will see better results with good rest and recovery…

You go back to the changing room, and enjoy a long hot shower, maybe even a sauna… then afterwards you make your way back home. You know that you have had a great day, and have lived to the fullest with a limited amount of time available…You are satisfied in what you have achieved, you know that the weight loss solutions through exercise are the most enjoyable and fun,

The only problem with this story is that it takes place over the course of 3 hours or so…


Where do you find the time for implementing weight loss solutions through exercise?

Do you struggle to find time to exercise? Maybe it is not entirely your fault, maybe you have a family to take care of, or need to put in a lot of hours at work… What is the solution? How can you help solve your weight problem or fat loss problem through exercise?

Multitasking! There are things in life that are definitely NOT suited to multitasking. If your job involves knives, scalpels or heavy machinery you will not want to lose focus. But on the other hand, there are plenty of times that multitasking is not only possible, but highly beneficial.

For example, if you watch TV series, or like to keep up with the news, it is very easy to do this whilst on an exercise bike.


But this is not my main suggestion to help you with weight loss solutions through exercise!

The “watch TV while on an exercise bike” was an obvious example. My main point of this article is to point out that you do not have to combine exercise with something else.

A savvy weight loss solution is to combine ANY activities in order to free up time!

Any area that you can multitask in will free up time. For example I am, amongst other things, an internet marketer. I like to keep learning and updating my knowledge on the topic. I used to spend a huge amount of time reading blogs on the topic of internet marketing. Some days my eyes would be sore from strain, because I would spend as much time learning (consuming) as I spent writing (producing).

I changed over to Podcasts. You can find experts in almost any field that produce Podcasts alongside their books, U-tube video’s or blog posts. My iPod is loaded up to capacity and I listen to these Podcasts constantly as I am walking around, or driving my car. Getting stuck in traffic is a pleasure now! I also rarely get eyestrain anymore.

Another example is in the supermarket. You are there for groceries anyway, why not stock up on healthy snacks and drinks that can be bought with you wherever you are. Wherever you might see me, I am likely to have a drink, and some raw nuts or dried fruit in my bag. This means that I do not have to walk to a convenience store, cafeteria or restaurant if I am hungry, I can just pull something out of my back pack to keep me going. My one hour in the supermarket, that I had to spend anyway, has saved me multiple 5, 10 or even 30 minute detours during the week.

These two examples have nothing to do with exercise I hear you ask… (Well maybe a few of you)…

My answer is that by combining other tasks in my life, I have freed up some extra time for exercise, relaxation or recreation!

How can you combine things that you have to do anyway? to free up time to do what you really want to do? If you really want to achieve your goals you have to think out of the box, be more efficient with your time. As you start to do this, you will think of new ways to achieve your fat loss mentality. You will discover more weight loss solutions through exercise, diet or anything else.

    Everyone knows what needs to be done, it’s just about cutting the excuses and doing it! Now, I should free up some more extra time for exercise, relaxation or recreation!

    This is a great article Jason! I’ve never really had any trouble prioritizing my health – but SO many of my friends and colleagues have this very complaint! It’s so motivating that you have these mind-centered posts – these are just the thing to share with my friends, family, and colleagues to help them get and stay motivated!

    Yes, everyone uses lack of time as an excuse. Even in an office, one can do squats at their chair or take frequent walking, or even standing breaks. People need to make the time.

    Great post! I OFTEN have no time to exercise. I work full time, go to school full time, now trying to incorporate a healthy lifestyle while also wanting to get my blog and facebook page going. I seem so overwhelmed most of the time! I really don’t have any way’s to motivate myself to do it. I just force myself to get it in. I know I have to do it like Carl suggested with taking a bath or brushing my teeth it has to be done! So i’m hoping that it will become a passion for me or a hobby as you suggested! It really is a matter of whether you WANT it and if so how badly to set aside a measly hour for yourself even if it means missing out on an hour of sleep either in the morning or at night! If I have to work out at midnight I get it in!

    Great article. I usually don’t have a problem making time to eat right. I plan out my meals on the weekend and also do my shopping so that I can cook for myself all week long without wasting too much time at the supermarket. But, I don’t always find it easy to make time for the gym. so, I loved your tips.
