What we need to do in order to form new thoughts, habits and actions, is to keep being reminded of what we want to achieve. We need to keep thinking about what we do want, and stop thinking about what we don’t want.

… This is of course easier said than done.

… Hence the phrase “old habits die hard”.

I have read that it takes a month of repetition to solidify a habit. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 months. At some point the new thoughts, actions and habits take over and start to become automatic. This happens in both directions. It takes 1-3 months to create a good habit, or fall back into an old habit.

The second hardest thing in weight loss is trying to figure out how to get motivated to lose weight…

The hardest thing in weight loss is keeping up your efforts and getting the momentum to push you further.

None of these tips will ensure weight loss by themselves. There are many habits that slim people follow automatically. These habits are natural, and in fact normal to them.

It is you who is a slave to a fat persons habits and thoughts. There are many differences between fat and slim people that we can observe in everyday life.

If you consciously make an effort to follow some, or all of these habits, you will gradually see a reinforcement and a snowball effect of “slim consciousness”.

The more ways that you think like a slim person, the more habits that you “copy” from slim people, the easier it will be to become a slim person.

When we observe success stories of successful ex-fatties they all get questioned as to what their “weight loss secret” was.

  • Some might say it was their exercise regime.
  • Some might say it was a particular diet.
  • Maybe it was a life change such as moving to the countryside or getting divorced.


Successful reasons and methods for weight loss

When people talk about their reasons for the weight loss the chances are that they are focusing on one factor but their is likely to have been many.

Some times the “reason” might simply be a trigger. Maybe a weight related health scare will cause a sequence of life choices. Maybe a new job will give a boost to the self esteem than also reinvigorates the persons goal setting system. The reasons, triggers, and techniques vary.

But the chances are, there will be no single factor in explaining weight loss. There is likely to be a trigger, followed by a series of good decisions ranging from exercise to diet, nutrition to lifestyle changes.

After some weight is lost, new clothes, interests or hobbies might boost the change. For example losing 30 pounds might lead to attention from a potential romantic partner.

So success can lead to more success. The important thing is to get started. If you were to follow every principle in the Fat Loss Mentality Motivation Course immediately then your life transformation would be very fast.


The same applies to most health exercise and diet plans.

So why do most fail? Mainly because they aren’t followed properly, or are abandoned.

Why are they abandoned? Because they are too difficult to follow, or old habits and thoughts sabotage your efforts.

So the successful tactic is to follow as many principles as possible, act in as many ways as possible that will lead to long term change. If one habit or principle is hard to follow, or you have a day where you break some rules…

… So what? If you are heading for change that will last a lifetime, what difference does it make if you miss a few days here and there?

Q) Which is better?

A) Thinking and acting like a slim person for 365 days a year? Or 265 days a year? In an ideal world the answer is obvious… 365 days.

But lets try a new question…

Q) Which is better?

A) thinking and acting like a slim person 355 days a year? Or for 30 days a year?

My point is, most people start cheating on their diet, and find it difficult, then give up completely.

That is the worst possible choice.


Realize that there are many changes that you can make in order to achieve your goals. They will all add together to eventually create a tipping point and a snowball effect where lasting change becomes easy.

If this coming year, the ONLY change you made was to stop drinking calories. The sugary or dairy filled drinks… you would be better off.

If then the following year the ONLY change you made was to exercise for 20 minutes 3 times a week, whilst keeping up the first years habit, you will see and feel a real difference in 2 years time.

I am not recommending such slow progress however. What I am saying is that the more good thoughts and habits you develop, the easier it will be to create change that will last for the rest of your life.

This way, If you have a bad week where you binge, or stop exercising it doesn’t mean that you give up on your dreams. There will still be other habits in place that will be moving towards that tipping point.

The tipping point of BEING a slim person rather than acting like one.

So, there are a number of habits that you can cultivate in conjunction with any diet or exercise plan that you are currently following.
