Fatloss hopes and dreams turned into action and reality

We have all heard the phrase “be careful what you wish for”. Have you ever stopped to consider what it really means? The human mind (or brain) is by far the most powerful creation in the history of the World. One might question this premise when we interact with those who choose to not utilize their brains fully! Others might question whether the most advanced computers, space craft, or even the latest smartphones are more marvelous. Remember that the human mind created these tools. The creator of other complex mechanisms is therefore necessarily more advanced. When I am talking about the wonder of the human mind, of course I am thinking of the best examples of such a thing. The way that the most useful minds have built upon the fruits of previous minds to create the most amazing creations. My main point here is that your mind, your brain, is a powerful thing. If nurtured and used wisely it is capable of feats that you can only imagine, (at the moment!). Compared to the achievements of the greatest minds, fatloss should be a walk in the park…

Utilizing your imagination and creative energy for fatloss…

Which brings me to my next point. Imagination is the seed of all action, of all change, and of all of our creation. Everything is created first in the mind. From the athlete who visualizes winning and receiving the Gold medal, to the scientist who experiences a breakthrough, a “eureka moment”, which can put an end to months or even years of research. This meaning is also related to the phrase: “be careful what you wish for”.

Have you heard of the Law of attraction? The secret? These are movements and strategies that have been formulated to fully utilize the basic concept of creating things in our minds, then focusing in order to bring them into reality. On a basic level this is how we take any action. We feel hungry, so we use our imagination to think of what to cook, the process might involve buying some ingredients, coming back and preparing them, cooking them in the right way and so on. This is a simple example of “the secret”…. Not much of a secret ha?

Those who have created a workable and practical psychology of the law of attraction have focussed on achievement and success. Sadly many who have promoted the concept have focussed simply on financial success and material wealth. But the same principle can apply to anything. For example: anyone who has ever tried to “take over the world” throughout history probably had a burning desire to do so. The thoughts of dominating others probably overwhelmed them day after day. As they started to achieve their goals they grew in power, conviction and then momentum built. Others sensed their energy and followed, especially those who had no focus or burning desire of their own.

So the Law of attraction is very real, and is a practical tool that can be used. I believe that this is the process involved behind fat loss or weight loss.

To clarify, I do not believe that Attila the Hun or Hitler would have conquered any other countries if they merely “wished” to rule the world. If they laughed and joked with their buddies over a few beers about how they really ought to get started on tyranny…. Next month…

…Or if they always sighed and complained about how hard it was to enslave other people.

With your weight loss goals, wishing, complaining or setting starting blocks further into the future will just put your life in limbo. Stuck between a unfulfilling past, and a future that you can’t start living yet.

Fatloss change starts with a spark, a wish, a dream…

Change starts with a wish, this is the spark that can fizzle out…

…So you need to put some “tinder” near the spark. This tinder could be a series of thoughts relating to the wish, that makes the wish more real in the mind…

…The tinder needs some small twigs for the fire to start. The small twigs could be a paper and pen where you start to write a list of goals, and discuss your feelings and emotions, as well as your dreams…

…As soon as you write these things down, your intangible wish or series of thoughts becomes tangible. A few pages of notes are real. You have bought something into the real world. You haven’t created a new machine, but most of the important developments in history started as thoughts, then notes on a piece of paper…

…From these notes, larger pieces of firewood need to be added. Some “easy to locate” wood nearby such as some books on the topic related to fat loss or healthy cooking…

…Then some slightly larger pieces of wood such as a new gym membership or running shoes. By this time what started as a wish is turning into reality…

…Remember that the fire will die without regular input of fresh wood. You need to actually buy and eat the healthy food, you need to use the gym membership and running shoes. After a few sessions you are becoming a different person…

…Even after one week, you are a jogger, keep fit enthusiast and healthy cook. You are what you repeatedly do. These new actions need to be continued on a regular basis to become habit…

If you stop eating healthily and exercising, you with atrophy back to your previous unhappy self. This is why “going on a diet” does not work. As soon as you stop starving yourself you will go back to old habits. It is the law of possession. “if you don’t use it you lose it”.

The law of attraction and the law of possession are quite simple to grasp and use. But if you get stuck in the wish part of the process, you will live your life in limbo. Stuck half-way between your unhappy past and an unattainable future.

P.S… Did this article inspire you at all? I felt inspired writing it! If you feel inspired then this is a spark! Add some “tinder” by writing a comment below, by connecting through social media, and by entering your name and email to keep in touch with me…

I have almost asked a couple of times. I am putting the finishing touches on my book and I was planning to wait until the book was published before asking. Plus this site needed a bit more “meat and potatoes”. My to do list is huge. (Which is good I suppose)

I like your analogy, and your point about the connection between writing it down and making it happen. Really well done, Jason!

Studies have shown that this is the main difference between people who hit hit goals and those who don’t, simply putting pen to paper.

“The faintest ink is better than the strongest memory” … Can’t remember who said that, could have been Shakespeare or Lincoln… Or maybe someone obscure but enlightened…
